Fully Government Funded Training
To support workplaces to reopen and stay open the New South Wales and Commonwealth governments, for a restricted period, are co-funding certified, Infection Prevention and Control training and certification.
Staff who undertake this training will receive a nationally recognised qualification and will have been trained to the highest standard. This training manages risk for organisations, with both staff and customers, should they be implicated in an outbreak.

This is an online, self-paced course which is available for commencement from the 12th October.
This course has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of what infection prevention and control is, how infection occurs in the workplace, and the steps you can take to help minimise the risk of infection.
It has been developed to cover the unit of competency HLTINFCOV001, Comply with Infection Prevention and Control Policies and Procedures. To be issued with the national statement of attainment, learners will need to complete the following:
|Overview||Basic microbiology and the chain of infection, so participants have a base understanding for applying precautions.||30 minutes|
|Precautions||Standard and transmission based precautions used to break the chain of infection and stop the spread. Why these are important and how to implement them properly.||60 minutes|
|Risk Management||Risk assessment process applied to infection control, where participants have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learnt to their workplace and take a risk based approach to applying infection prevention and control precautions.||30 minutes|
|Assessment||Learners will need to answer a series of online multiple choice and short answer questions. They will also need to provide photographic or video evidence of them applying what they’ve learnt in the workplace.||Allow 2 hours|
