The New South Wales government has announced a final round of funding for Infection Prevention and Control training and certification. With limited places we are taking advanced expressions of interest, as registrations will be on a first-in-first-served basis. The formal registrations will be open from 1st September until 15th September. 

These places are fully funded placements and are at no expense to the participant or their employer. This course is self-paced, fully online and takes approximately 4 hours to complete. 

Now is the time to require staff, who must stay home due to lockdown, to undertake this training. It is clear that Covid-19 is going to be a threat for quite some time to come, but knowledge is power and you can keep Covid out of your workplace. Those who complete the course will receive a nationally recognised qualification and will have been trained to the highest standard. This training reduces risk for organisations, with both staff and customers. 

Implementing appropriate infection prevention and control measures in your workplace will inspires confidence in customers and staff – and keeps us all safe.

The Course

This course has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of what infection prevention and control is, how infection occurs in the workplace, and the steps you can take to help minimise the risk of infection.

It has been developed to cover the unit of competency HLTINFCOV001, Comply with Infection Prevention and Control Policies and Procedures. To be issued with the national statement of attainment, learners will need to complete the following:

Risk ManagementRisk assessment process applied to infection control, where participants have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learnt to their workplace and take a risk based approach to applying infection prevention and control precautions.30 minutes
AssessmentLearners will need to answer a series of online multiple choice and short answer questions. They will also need to provide photographic or video evidence of them applying what they’ve learnt in the workplace.Allow 2 hours

The course is a self-paced online course, with videos and activities, which can be completed on either computer or tablet. The course will be personalised based on the learner’s usual work environment. They will be requested to select the most suitable environment at the start of the course and can change this at any time in the course settings.
